Two contrastingly lit spaces: Bright and spacious vs soft an intimate

This illustrious private members club, built in the early 19th Century, has been refurbished solely to upgrade the lighting.

The challenge was to create a lighting scheme that is sympathetic to the historical nature of the building whilst being true to the interior design of two contrasting spaces.

Concealed striplights uplight the decorative coving and provides a soft wash across the ornate ceiling in the coffee room. Discrete spotlights detailed into the central pendants, uplight the decorative acanthus ceiling roses, creating a feature of the ceiling.

A sense of comfort and style is maintained in the morning room by illuminating the portraits with bespoke picture lights.
